Hannah talked her Grandma and Grandpa into staying for the Strawberry Festival today. I overheard Grandma telling her that she could stay all day at the festival if she wanted...wrong answer! We went at 10:30am and got home at 4:30pm. It was a beautiful day, and we all had a fund but tiring time. We took turns going on the rides with Hannah based on which ones I thought I would get sick on. Thankfully, she's still one step down from the really scary rides! The festival is run by the East End Lions, which donates all of their profits to charities. It's a great event they put on every year and fun for everyone in the community. Here are some pictures of our all day affair.

Last year's queen was our very dear friend Kristin, who has been babysitting the girls since the beginning. She is like a member of the family and we love her! We were so excited to see her, since we have been trying to get together with her since this whole craziness started.

Dear Hannah,
Wow, it seems like you had quite a day today at the Strawberry Festival and we have a feeling that your Grammy and Grandad enjoyed being there also, but probably a little tired at the end of the day. We love corn on the cob, too. How wonderful that you got some autographed baseballs from the Yankees players. That is wonderful for you since you, Colby, Mom and Dad are such big New York Yankees fans, for sure. We know that you have wanted special bandaides...well, we are going to send you some. Our neighbor is a firefighter here in our town and works as an EMT at the Boston Red Sox games. We had asked him if the Red Sox have any bandaides that we could send to a lovely little girl we know in New York. He talked to all the folks he works with to ask if they might have any since the Red Sox do not use bandaides with their name on them anymore. He told his friends about the special little girl on Long Island and they all searched. Lo and Behold today, he was able to get some. They will be in the mail to you on Monday. You'll have to tell the nurses about the "man from Boston" when you use them. Hannah, maybe those days, you can wear your Red Sox hat. That would make the "man from Boston" very happy.

Hi Hannah,
So glad you got to enjoy the Strawberry Festival. My next door neighbor, Jayme Blasko was the Strawberry Queen two or three years ago. My son went Friday night. I'm a terrible ride rider, get sick to my stomach REALLY easily so I just walk around and watch everyone else! I'm glad you got to come to school Friday and rehearse for the play. Hope I get a chance to see some of it - we're busy doing inventory which means we have to count 17,500 plus books and get everything in order before summer vacation. If only I had time to READ them all! See you soon!

Hey Hannah,

I couldn't believe it when Grandma called me yesterday and told me about the baseballs. That is so cool!! It sounded like you guys had a great time at the Strawberry Festival. Sydney went to that one time when we were out there and you were still in mommies tummy and then born a few days later. I was telling Grandma the story of how I was trying to put Sydney into the baby Borne carrier and almost dropped her. I really had a good time and it looked like you did too. I heard the you ate 3 ears of corn. Good job!! I hope that you got my bandages or if not they may be in the mail today. Sydney really like them and wanted to keep them. She doesn't even like to wear bandages. She always takes them off before she should. I hope that the play goes well and don't be nervous I am sure that you will do a great job. Make sure that mom takes a video so that when we come to see you we can watch it with you. Hope to see you soon.

Hi Hannah! WOW....I looked at your journal today and had SO much to read and all of it very exciting!

I am so glad that you are eating, that you were able to enjoy your festival yesterday, that you received those AWESOME baseballs and that you have a special part in your play. That is so exciting!

I love all of the new pictures too! Your smile just brings sunshine into my day and I love seeing that. I know that sometimes you don't feel like smiling, but that's okay....we all have those days - but when you do feel like smiling - WOW - it's wonderful!!!

I hope you received your band aids - I thought you would like the pirate ones....make sure to say "Argh" and "Matey" a lot when you wear those....ha! ha! I am always on the lookout for some really neat ones for you to add to your collection!

Have a wonderful week and know that I'm sending great big hugs your way - all the way from Illinois!

Take care sweetie!

Love - your cousin Angela

Hi Hanna,

The Strawberry Festival looks like it was great fun and I'm so happy that your Grandma and Grandpa were able to stay and enjoy it with you. I was just reading through your blog and it sounds like you are getting some really, really cool band aids. My husband, Bruce, is going to Mumbai, India this week and I told him to look for some neat ones. We'll see if he can find anything interesting. Keep up the good eating!

Hey there Hannah!

Those ears of corn don't stand a chance now that your front chompers are coming in! Up to almost 42 pounds? Sounds like you are starting the "Uncle Mike Diet"! Remember to focus on the five major food groups:

Pizza
Ravioli
BBQ
Bacon
and Cheese

You'll be looking like me in no time. See you at the local Luby's Buffet soon! Keep up the hard work sweetie.

Love,

Uncle Mike
